What to eat
for healthy teeth
What you eat ends up on your teeth too, not just in your stomach. A few simple choices keep your enamel healthy.
What harms
Sugar feeds the bacteria that cause cavities, but acidic drinks are just as harmful — sodas, energy drinks, even the "diet" ones. They erode the enamel, especially if you sip them, a little at a time, all day.
What helps
The friends of teeth are water, calcium-rich dairy, crunchy vegetables and cheese. They clean naturally and help the enamel stay strong.
It's not so much the amount of sweets as how often you have them. Every snack is a small attack on the enamel.
A simple tip
After something sweet or acidic, rinse your mouth with water and wait an hour before brushing — the enamel is temporarily more sensitive right after. At the check-up we tell you what to watch in your case.
