How to brush
your teeth correctly
Correct brushing does more for your teeth than any treatment. The good news is it's easy to learn.
How long and how
Correct brushing takes two minutes and is done twice a day, with gentle movements from gum toward tooth. The brush should be changed every three months, and a soft one is best — a hard one hurts the gums.
Floss isn't optional
The brush only cleans the faces of the teeth. Floss reaches exactly where the brush can't, between the teeth, where cavities most often start. Use it daily, in the evening.
Most cavities appear between the teeth, exactly where the brush can't reach. That's why floss isn't a nicety.
Complete it with scaling
However well you brush, tartar still builds up over time. A scaling every six months completes your home care and keeps your gums healthy.
