Communication in a couple:
4 habits that help
Most couple conflicts don't come from big things, but from the way we say the small ones. Four habits can change a lot.
1. Speak in the first person
"I feel neglected" opens a conversation; "You never pay attention to me" opens a fight. When you talk about what you feel, instead of accusing, your partner can hear you without getting defensive.
2. Listen to understand
Often we listen only to reply. Try to listen in order to truly understand what the other feels, even if you disagree. That dissolves half the conflicts.
In a fight, it doesn't matter who wins. If one of you loses, you both lost.
3. Choose the moment · 4. Repair
Don't discuss hard things when tired or angry. And after a fight, repair: a gesture, a kind word. Happy couples don't fight less — they make up better.
