Organic, eco, natural:
what each one means

You hear them everywhere, often one in place of the other. But between them is a difference that matters. Here it is.

Organic and eco: the same, regulated

In the European Union, "organic" and "eco" mean the same thing and are strictly regulated. A product can carry them only if it's certified. It's the safest guarantee.

Natural: no clear rules

"Natural" isn't regulated. It can mean a lot or almost nothing. A natural product can be excellent, but the word alone guarantees you nothing.

Organic is proven with a certification. Natural, often, is only claimed.

How we choose

For organic we look at the certification. For natural, we look at the producer and the ingredients, and we shelve only what we'd check for our own family.
