How to read an
organic label

"Natural", "green", "from nature" — pretty words that don't necessarily mean organic. Here's how to truly check.

Look for the European logo

A truly organic product carries the EU ecological logo, a leaf made of green stars, plus a code for the certifying body. Without it, "organic" is just a word.

Watch out for greenwashing

Green packaging, drawn leaves and vague words say nothing. Look at the certification and the ingredient list, not at how "natural" the box looks.

Organic isn't a color on the packaging. It's a certification you can verify.

Read the ingredients

A short list, with ingredients you recognize, is usually a good sign. If you can't read half the words, think again. And we can help you in the shop.
