How to look after your boiler between services

Between yearly services, you can look after the boiler yourself with a few simple moves. Once a month, check the pressure on the gauge: ideally between 1 and 1.5 bar, when cold. If it has dropped, top it up with water from the valve under the boiler.

Clear the dust around it, don't block the vents and watch for noises or a yellow flame instead of blue. If those show up, shut it off and call me. The rest I handle at the yearly service.
