An old or badly sized radiator heats poorly and uses a lot. I replace it with one suited to the room, with valves and a bleeder valve fitted correctly, so you get all the heat out of it.
I drain and refill the system carefully, bleed it and check that no leak is left. The room heats evenly, with no noise.
